Our Mission

At History Plus, we believe that history and geography should be more than just names and dates—they should be an adventure! Our mission is to make learning engaging, accessible, and exciting for families everywhere. While History Plus is not a faith-based program, we approach history from a Christian worldview, ensuring that parents retain full control over how they incorporate their own values into their child’s education.

 

The History Plus Story

History Plus began with a simple yet powerful idea: learning should spark curiosity and a love for discovery. Founded by experienced educators and world travelers, our program brings history to life through immersive storytelling, hands-on activities, and engaging video lessons. We understand the challenges homeschool families face in making history exciting, and we’re here to provide a solution that blends educational excellence with interactive fun.

Our team has traveled the world, stood in the places where history happened, and explored cultures firsthand—all to bring those experiences into your home. We’ve worked with some of the biggest names in homeschooling, including The Canadian Homeschooler, AHEA, THEE, and many more. In 2024, we were honored to receive the Practical Homeschooling "Best Online History Curriculum" award in America, and were chosen as a The "Favorite Online Resource" By The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.

Daniel Allers – Teacher & Host

  • With over 1,000 workshops taught across Alberta, Daniel has dedicated his life to making history and science engaging for students of all ages. His love for adventure has taken him to every continent, allowing him to experience history firsthand. Whether directing a church choir, running a local theatre, or traveling the world to gain deeper historical insights, Daniel brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to History Plus.

 

Jonathan Allers – Host & Online Manager

With more than a decade of experience as a performer, photographer, and videographer, Jonathan combines storytelling with education to create world-class learning experiences. His passion for history, combined with his expertise in multimedia production, brings the lessons of History Plus to life. Besides being traditionally homeschooled his whole life, he’s also a homeschool dad, teaching his own children alongside his wife.

 

Amberly Allers – Admin + Support

If you reach out to History Plus, you’re likely to hear from Amberly. Also a homeschool graduate, she ensures that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and loves connecting with families. Having traveled to every continent alongside Daniel, she understands the value of global learning and plays a key role in making History Plus a trusted resource for homeschoolers.

 

Eliana Allers – Admin + Support

Eliana grew up as a homeschooled student herself and now contributes to the program by designing worksheets and assisting with production. When she’s not acting or performing, she’s helping behind the scenes—and you might even catch her in a video or two!
