Here’s what’s coming in June—and how your family can make the most of your subscription.

 For Ages 8–11: The Viking World

This summer, our Bright Young Explorers will sail into the world of the Vikings—a unit packed with exciting stories, wild creatures, and quirky customs.

Here’s a peek at what’s included:

• Leif Erikson and the voyages to North America

• Bearded axes and Viking weapons

• Hands-on games like Blind Bock

• Creature Features on wild boars, reindeer, arctic foxes, and lynx

• Myths, food, and daily life in Viking culture

• Plus: a special look at Iceland, Greenland, and what happened when the Viking era ended

With short, captivating video lessons and plenty of printable activities, this unit brings Viking history to life in a way younger learners can truly connect with.

For Ages 12–18: The Story of Germany

Older students will dive into the complex and powerful story of Germany, from ancient battles to modern borders. This unit is one of our most detailed yet, weaving together pivotal events, legendary figures, and hands-on engagement.

Key highlights include:

• The rise of Arminius and the battle against Rome

• The sweeping legacy of the Holy Roman Empire 

• Influential figures like Otto von Bismarck, the Red Baron, and Wernher von Braun 

• Germany through the World Wars, the depression, and division

• A thoughtful look at the Berlin Wall, the Holocaust, and how Germany rebuilt

• Plus: Germany today—where history meets the modern world

With over 20 days of in-depth content, students can explore at their own pace and gain a strong understanding of European and global history.

Don’t Miss the Food Challenges!

Whether you’ve been with us for a while or just joined recently, don’t forget about the History Plus Food Challenges—our fun, family-friendly videos where Daniel and Jonathan (and sometimes guests!) try weird foods from around the world.

We’ve got all the classic challenges plus brand-new ones filmed this year, featuring Jellied Moose nose, historical recipes, and a whole lot of laughter.

They’re perfect for wrapping up a study session or bringing everyone around the table!

Daniel’s Next Filming Adventure: The Southern U.S.!

We’ve got something exciting happening behind the scenes…

In the first couple of weeks of June, Daniel will be heading off on a brand-new filming trip to the southern United States! He’ll be exploring historical sites, filming on location, and gathering stories for future History Plus programs.

From retired Battleships to unique cultural landmarks, this trip is all about bringing more real-world history to your kids—straight from the places where it happened.

Follow along with his journey on our History Plus Facebook page where we’ll be sharing daily updates, photos, and behind-the-scenes moments throughout the trip!

Your kids can even post questions or comments—we’ll do our best to bring them along for the ride.

⏳ Important Reminder: Current Units Close June 5th!

If you haven’t finished Great Explorers (ages 8–11) or South Africa (ages 12–18), now’s the time!

Those units will be rotated out on June 5th to make room for our Viking and Germany adventures. You can still binge the remaining lessons this week—just log in and keep exploring!
