Bringing Antarctica to Life for Your Kids

Why We Created a Course About Antarctica
A behind-the-scenes look at our newest program and the heart behind it
When most people think of Antarctica, they picture endless snow, penguins, and maybe a few scientists bundled up in thick parkas. But at History Plus, we saw something more: an incredible opportunity to take families on an unforgettable learning adventure.
Our brand-new Antarctica Program is more than just a geography course—it’s a chance for kids to explore one of the most remote and fascinating places on Earth, right from their own home.
The Problem We Wanted to Solve
Too often, geography (and history) is pushed to the side in homeschool plans—or worse, it’s reduced to memorizing maps and facts with no real sense of wonder. We kept hearing from parents who wanted their kids to love geography but didn’t know where to start.
At the same time, we noticed there were almost no kid-friendly resources that made Antarctica feel exciting, hands-on, and relevant.
So, we decided to build something different.
A Course Built on Discovery
Our Antarctica Program is designed to bring learning to life through:
• Engaging video lessons that explore the land, climate, wildlife, and human history of the continent
• Hands-on activities that help kids connect with what they’re learning
• Fascinating stories of survival and exploration—like Shackleton’s Endurance mission
• Real-life travel footage from Daniel’s recent trip to Antarctica
• Quizzes, challenges, and a certificate of completion to celebrate the journey
Just like all of our unit studies, everything is done for you—just press play, enjoy the adventure, and follow along at your own pace.
From the Ice to Your Home
When Daniel visited Antarctica, he didn’t just bring back photos—he brought back stories, insights, and a renewed passion for helping kids experience the world. In the final module of this course, families can follow his personal journey: from flying to Argentina, crossing the Drake Passage, and stepping foot on the icy shores of Elephant Island and beyond.
It’s the kind of experience most people never get—but now your kids can explore it with you, with curiosity leading the way.
90 Days of Access—At Your Chosen Price
We wanted this course to be as accessible as possible, so we’ve made it available for a one-time purchase (no membership required) with 90 days of access. You can even choose your own price—starting at just $10.
Because we believe every family should be able to explore the world, no matter their budget.
If you’ve been looking for a fresh, meaningful way to teach geography—or just want to spark your child’s sense of adventure—this course was made for you.
