It's September! (ages 8-11)

Exploring the Oceans! – A Homeschool Guide for Ages 8–11
It's September, and History Plus is diving into the oceans!
Here is this month's guide to what you can learn, along with some bonus free resources:
Why Should We Study The Oceans?
- Geography: The oceans play a significant role in shaping our weather and climate, and they're also key to global trade!
- History: Oceans have been the backdrop of exploration, migration, and disasters like the Titanic.
- Imagination: The deep sea sparks curiosity and wonder. That's why Dr Robert Ballard, one of Daniel's heroes, fell in love with the ocean.
What Your Kids Will Learn with History Plus
This month we're exploring the five oceans of the world and discovering what makes each one wilder than the last, delving into the work of the world-famous Dr. Robert Ballard and the fascinating field of oceanography! We'll be getting to know the amazing animals the deep blue holds, such as whales, sharks, bioluminescent creatures, and everyone's favourite ocean floor-dwelling friend, the blob fish!
We'll also be investigating famous ocean disasters from shipwrecks to storms, and learning how people explore and study the ocean using everything from submarines to satellites.
